Welcome to my new website

Maybe something that most of you don’t know about me… but I actually love writing. Am I good at it — absolutely not! Sometimes I feel it’s easier to spill out thoughts on paper than it is out loud in person.

For those who have never purchased a pet portrait from me, and have no idea who I am… allow me to introduce myself.

I’m Hadyn, and I currently live in North Carolina! The state that often sees all four seasons within a 24-hour time frame. One of the best parts about the current season is that everyone is finally starting to go back outside. As a Christian, this brings joy to my heart because I get to spend more time in His creation, observing, studying, and reflecting on how God’s goodness is overabounding.

This year, I set the goal to paint more than I have in any other year of my painting journey. I’ve been painting in watercolors since 2019. Before that, I primarily enjoyed working in charcoal and graphite. The timing of finding this joy in watercolor proved perfect timing since the COVID-19 pandemic was shortly around the corner. During that season of life, I was given lots of time to practice my skill and create my first-ever commissioned pieces!

Now life is much busier. Art is not my full-time job, so any time I do have to work on art is outside my current 9-5 job. To make time even smaller, I have a beautiful wife and a 2-month-old son who take priority over my art. My time is valuable, so when I do work on a piece, it receives a well overdue rush of creative tenacity.
